Opry Night (Traditional)

  • Pocahontas County Opera House 818 3Rd Ave Marlinton, WV (map)

To protect both our audiences and our performers, we will be requiring that all audience members wear a mask whether they are vaccinated or not. We ask for your cooperation. By working together, we can ensure that our performers feel comfortable and that the Opera House doors stay open for future performances.

Every February, Opry Night at the Pocahontas County Opera House presents the best in local and regional talent in traditional music and bluegrass with new twists on familiar favorites. This year we welcome two very special performances from Dave Bing & Friends and Homer Hunter & Friends featuring Richard Hefner from the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys.

Dave Bing is among West Virginia’s finest traditional musicians who plays the banjo, fiddle, and guitar. Officials at the West Virginia Folklife center awarded Bing the Traditions Salute Award for embodying West Virginia and Appalachian culture.

Homer Hunter will be joined by some of his favorite musicians including Richard Hefner. Homer is one of the founding members of the Stony Bottom Bluegrass Band, formally known as Hot ‘Mater Gravy.
